Pastor Sheilah’s Retirement Celebration

At the end of June 2008, Pastor Sheilah Fletch retired from ministry. She has been Pastor of the Sullivan-Williamsford Lutheran Parish since June 1992. We in the parish wanted to celebrate her ministry with us, to thank her - and Andy too! - for their efforts and to wish them well in retirement.

On Sunday, June 22, there was one parish service at St. Peter’s, starting at 10:30 a.m. Former Eastern Synod Bishop William D. Huras (who ordained Pastor Sheilah) was the guest preacher.

Following the service, lunch and an afternoon of fellowship was enjoyed at the Chesley Community Centre. Lunch began about 12:30 p.m. with speeches and a time to honour Pastor Sheilah beginning at 2 p.m. ALL parish members and faith partners, as well as members/clergy from other churches and the community, were invited to join us, for the morning worship service and for the afternoon celebration from 1 to 5 p.m. Guests could come and go, or come and stay!

The following Sunday, June 29 was Pastor Sheilah’s last Sunday in the parish. She presided for services at both churches at the regular service times - 9 a.m. at St. James’ and 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s.
